“Anger & Anguish” is an oil painting on canvas in the collection of artworks titled “Rituals for the Living” in which I use color and my signature faceless figures to create the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. This piece was made to represent the anger stage. This metaphoric door is replicated in “Denial & Depression” and in “Bargaining and Acceptance” it is supposed to represent how grief and the process of grief isn’t linear because as humans our feelings aren’t linear, we are a constant mix of emotions.
